SPO 7500 OWNERS

Post by BASCONERO » Sat Dec 13, 2008 7:59 am

Hello folks, I've 2 questions for 2 problems that I've with Oxi SPO 7500 :

1) when I dowloaded night study, desaturation report shown only few results ( often none !! ); some months ago I reported this problem to Customer service in Israel, but they haven't resolved and then they are disappeared ( compliments! ); these below are reports results; please note on first I had 60 desaturation events, while on report are shown only 8 events; on second ( this is my dad ), yesterday night, he had 18 events and none appear!!

2) from a bit of time, after put my finger into the probe, the display light don't turns off; it always turned on!! I've tried change battery with a new one, but the problem remains!
Any suggestions will be appreciated! Many thanks.

p.s.: hello Doni!!! How are you???

I wish I could help but I have not had this problem. I did have a little problem with it turning on but the new battery did fix mine. I did have a big problem with mine quit reading during the night. It would loose as much as an hour and a half out of a 8 hour night. I sent it back to the US service facility and they returned it saying there was nothing wrong with it. I finally kept working with the thimble (made a clip around it to take some of the pressure off and it finally went to working). You might pull the sensor in the thimble and clean it.

Sounds like you may have a problem with the unit. If I remember when you bought it I should still be in warrenty. I would try to send it in and get it checked.

Well, there is a clue in your first report, the one that shows 60 events but details only 8 of them. The 8 are scattered throughout the entire night. I would have expected them to be bunched up during a small portion of the night instead. I think I would launch the corresponding vitascore and see which ones were listed, and if you can see why some might not have been listed, and if there really were 60 recorded based on that vitascore data.

Jerry, can you explain more what you mean when you say this:
made a clip around it to take some of the pressure off
Thanks.

Hi Jerry, how are you? I hope fine, ok? Thank you and LoQ for yours reply! I've purchased this unit from Protheraphy in July 2008; after 2 days of use, I realized that the unit probably had some problems for fact of bad report; so I contacted via e-mail the Customer service ( so they define it ) in Israel; in the meantime that I wait for their reply, unit did not work any more! So I've contacted Protherapy Customer care ( very fine service, I recommend them, especially Mr. Tony ) that effected replacement; but my first problem remained even with the new unit. I again contacted the Customer care in Israel to see if the software had some bugs; I sent them all the reports via e-mail; them return my desaturation report, where, magically, all the data appeared ! But I did not have any explanation on how solved the problem and are not longer hear!
As I said before, I tried to change the battery, but without results!
Now I've also the second problem : light don't turned off!!
I hope my bad English can be able to explain all my troubles!!

p.s.: Hey Doni, where are you??

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problems with the SPO 7500. Mine has worked fine except when the battery is getting low. Are you sure your replacement battery wasn't an old one?

Mindy

Hi Mindy, no the battery is new; I don't think is a battery problem, because the new one is 1.100 Ma, while factory's battery is an 850 Ma Tadiran therefore less powerful!

It sounds to me like the problem, then, is with the Vitabase software. I think if it were me, I would uninstall the software and then install it again. (I think there must be a way to save the data, but I don't know what it is. Perhaps you can just examine the file structure and copy the data files to another location.)

If that doesn't work, I would look for someone who has the device and borrow their CD, and install from that one. Also check your operating system to make sure it meets the requirements of the vitabase software. You may need a service pack or something, if you have the right OS. These are just some things to look at.

Hi all. I am doing better but it is a long slow road.

I think as long as you are running Windows XP with service pack 2 you are all right on the operating system. Several have posted problems using Vita Base with Vista. I have not yet tried Vista and have been holding my breath that my older computer will die and I would have to surcome to Vista.

LoQ I will try to take a picture of the clip I made to take some of the pressure off the thimble which made mine work better. I have been going to rehab at the local hospital and they check my O2/pulse 3 times during the hour and the machine they use has a spring loaded plastic clip (don't know what brand it is) which reads so easy and is so comfortable. I have been telling them I was going to bring my wire cutters and snip it off and take it home and wire it up to my SPO7500. They said if one comes up missing they know where to come look.

Hi Jerry,

I use VitaBase with Vista 64-bit and from past experience, if it will run on that it will run on just about *anything*

Yea, but you seem to have the habit of being able to get things to run when no one else can make it work.

The trick with Vista is adding the .exe file to the data execution prevention (?) list - I posted about this a while ago - you should be able to search for the post.
