Cold Air

Post by shobar » Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:25 am

I just recently started using a c-pap. First, I am claustrophobic so in sleep I fight every apparatus I've tried. Any ideas on something that does not feel intrusive.

Secondly I have a serious sinus problem that the dr. has not been able to 'cure'. Therefore I have nasal drainage, particularly if cold air is blowing on my face. Using the heater helps somewhat but my tubing and nose gear fill with enough water to gurgle and create issues that mean I can't use the cpap after it happens. I have insulated the hose as the dr. felt it was the difference between the c-pap air and room air that caused this...it did not help. Cold air causes my nasal drip to worsen which then means I can't wear the c-pap.

I did successfully use it one night and felt a ton better the next day but at most can only use it 1-2 hours a night.

HELP!

It may be time to try the aussie heated hose. The heated humidifier isn't meant to heat the air. The heated hose keeps the air warmer.
