Something strange happened with my smart card data

Last year, I started this thread about the storage capacity of my smart card.

Over the last two nights, I had something strange happen, so I thought I'd mention it.

I've been watching my nights of usage for the last couple of weeks since it was approaching the number nights of capacity I experienced last year.....about 317.
Yesterday morning when I went to download my card there was no data for the night of the 26th. The 25th was the 330th night.

I figured that there were two possibilities.....the card wasn't completely seated or it hit the maximum capacity and decided not to record that night (for whatever reason). I checked this on both of my computers....one with the Encore Pro 1.4.99 and the other with 1.6.22.

THIS morning, I downloaded the card and everything downloaded normally....except that both computers show me as not having any hours for the night of the 26th......but, at least I know that I DID sleep that night.

I'm thinking.....OK....I had one 'blurb" in over three years.....no big deal.....I can live with that.
But, here's where it got even weirder.....

In the MyEncore (v. 1.03) data on my computer with the EP 1.4.99 software (this morning)......ALL of the stats for the night of the 26th show up in my graphs EXCEPT......Variable Breathing Fraction/Time Spent in Variable Breathing (no number there).
So, then I go to my other (identical) computer with the EP 1.6.22 software......and the stats are MISSING in MyEncore (v. 1.5B7) for the night of the 26th.

Side notes:
For the first five months, I used a newer Auto and my Pro 2......for the last five months, I've been using my oldest Auto exclusively.
There were (about) 13 more nights of data stored on my card this year.

After last year hitting the "end of the road" on the card, I started a new card for the APAP. I am now at 326 days of usage on this card, however I used a different card when I used the Pro 2 for a month or so (I didn't move this card to that machine).

I have the same phenomenon that you have for the "end of the road" last year. The last night is not showing in EP yet I just checked and it is in MyEncore (I had to find MyEncore on the old hard drive to open it).

I will see in time when I hit the "end of the road". However my new "toy" Everest is coming next week and so that will delay this.

What I found interesting was that two different sets/versions of the programs reported it two different ways.....but with the same data on one card.

The other thing that puzzles me is the difference in the number of nights of storage. I also used a brand new card this year (as I did last year).

It's amazing the trivial stuff that we have to try to "entertain" ourselves with, once we get our therapy working.....

This is curious information for me......
I was not aware that the card had a "lifetime" other than it's just plain worn out.....I've been considering that because I've been using the same card for a year and a half. I initially had that 2 days of lost data thing within the first 6 months I had the machine, but I haven't noticed it since.....I do need to ask the DME for a new card -- perhaps with my next supplies request (which I suppose I can do since it's been more than 3 months now -- time to try the Activa mask -- just don't know what size, and having used the cpap.com sizing guide in the past, I'm a bit leery)

That being said, if you've read my posts recently, I don't obsess over the numbers (I go by feel rather than numbers), so I tend to lose some because I don't download it regularly (like I used to when I obsessed over the numbers)......Last download was actually on 11/12, and since the data is (I'm told) compiled at noon, I never download before noon on any day so it has the previous nights data fully available....Perhaps when I get done with my chicken enchilada project and think about it, I'll do a download today......
It's interesting to me that EP is reporting different results, from the same card, with two different versions.....I'm running 1.8.49 on a Thinkpad Z60m and have only had database timings issues on occasion (not recently -- knock wood!!!) that if I wait a few days, it just "goes away" (hate those kinds of problems).....If I could access the SQL DB at the admin level I could perhaps do something with it (I'm not an expert at SQL, but know enough to be very dangerous ). Like expand the storage allocation so it would store more data (with my new 320GB drive -- I'm storage fat)....

I'll have to look for "My Encore" as I don't know anything about it.....oh oh.....more "stuff".....

Oh....I'm also fascinated by the longevity of people on this board. It's very interesting. I don't intend to go anywhere myself because I still owe a lot of "give back" for the help and support I've received!!!!

MyEncore was written by the forum member "Derek" and came out in early-mid 2005 and only works with the older Legacy series machines. In fact, it will work up through the the EP 1.6 version if you have MyEncore 1.5B7 (last release). When Respironics came out with their M Series, it wouldn't work with those machines as the database format had been changed just enough to mess it up.

I checked recently and Derek's server with his software on it is no longer up and running at MIT (where he was a professor).

However, I still have copies of all the versions should anybody with a Legacy machine want it.

MyEncore gives the same kind of output as Encore Pro Analyzer.

Den--I'm thinking that maybe you were abducted by aliens that night, and that is why your data doesn't register. I heard the aliens are examining why some of us humans sleep with a mask and hose attached to a black box, or white box...whichever machine we happen to use
