Aromatheray and Remstar Plus

Post by grinninh » Mon Dec 08, 2008 6:11 pm

Just recieved my basic starter pack today and Im a tad bit confused about how to use the oils. I do not see an air intake area but if I understand this correctly the diffuser tray is just placed nearby the air intake. So you don't add the oil to the distilled water in the humidifier? Confused and I want to figure this out!
Thanks

I'm assuming you're talking about the PurSleep oils?

You do NOT want to put the oils in the humidifer or mix it with the water!

Assuming you also have received a diffuser pad, you just want to put one or two drops on the pad, and place the pad near the air intake.
The air intake on your machine will be covered by a yellowish/white filter, and it should be somewhere on the back of the machine (opposite end from where you connect the hose).

That's for the Puritan Bennett machines. Since you have a Respironics machine, there is a black foam square on the back of the machine beside the hose connection, and that foam filter is your intake area where you should place the scent.

Tis okay!--You've just helped the folks with PB machines who had the same question, but didn't ask it. "It's all good."

hee hee thanks. I even tried to find images of Remstar machines but they're all so black I couldn't see the air intake.

Heather, the little round pads are actually designed to work with a new diffusion mount that holds them vertically in a slot. I finally picked up the new diffusion mounts last Friday and am including them in new samples but if you send me your mailing address via email I will put a few in an envelope. The pads will work the other way as well (just placing near the air intake) but they work quite a bit better with the little cardstock mounts. You just fold the ends over (the cardstock is scored for easy folding), creating a little raised platform and slide the little round pad into the slot. I will try to get some pictures up so people can see how it works.
