Well I just got my CPAP last Thursday. yay! (it's an Intellipap) I've been using it since then but I've noticed that for some reason the water level doesn't seem to go down very much (if at all) on it. That would lead me to believe that the humidifier isn't turning on. Is there some kind of trick to it? I've looked at the instructions(what little there is) and haven't found anything. I thought it would just turn on if heat was turned on... am I missing something?
Thanks in advance,

odd issue with intellipap humidifier.
Re: odd issue with intellipap humidifier.
Surprisingly, even w/the furnace running now, my Humidaire 3i isn't using much water so far this year either. Hey, as long as you are comfortable, mouth and/or nasal passages not dry, etc., I wouldn't sweat the small stuff.

The up and down arrows on the IntelliPAP control panel control the humidifier; it might be turned off.

Bearded_One: Is it the heating adjustment? I've got mine set to 5 now. I'll check tonight to see what my water level was at. It was warmer and my headgear fogged up but it could have been my respiration.
I'm guessing the humidifier isn't quite as strong as one of those room-humidifiers. We'll see I guess.
Thanks,
I'm surprised how quiet this machine is. Seriously my computer is louder. I have to use the ramp up timer though (I set it to 20-30 minutes depending on how tired I am). My chest hurts now a bit too. Could be breathing out through the nose constantly. It'll take a couple of weeks to get used to it I'm guessing.

Yes, the up/down arrows control the humidifier heat. I have an IntelliPAP, but I don't have a humidifier for it, so I am going by what I have read about it. Heated humidifiers don't heat the air very much, they mostly just compensate for the heat lost from the water evaporation.

Cool, thanks,
The humidifier's required by law here (as well as a 3 year warranty for all CPAP sold here). *shrug*
I'm going to turn up the heat a few more notches tonight (maybe 8-9) just to make sure the humidifier is working. It's my first CPAP so I'm a newbie at this.
