Thanks airhead...I'm finished here now!

You know, I thought I had found a great board for help with sleep apnea & support. Instead I find people who make comments such as airhead & I quote:
"did santa bring u trains instead of brains last year? if u have a heated humidifier on your cpap, buy sinuclense @ waldgreens or wherever, microwave or boil some water in a coffee cup, add the little package of the sinuclense, stir it like a scrambled egg with a fork for a few seconds, let it cool a few minutes and put it in the cpap and go to sleep.....if your sinuses are so bad that your using "moonshine" in a homemade salt mix.......wow....go and get a MRI. The sinuclense each night in the cpap works for me. It takes a few nights to help a lot. Drink the moonshine! might help you sleep better. Worst case....trains are worth $. Good
luck! "
Excuse me??? I followed a recipe on HERE! And YES, my sinuses are bad & I have had an MRI, but unfortunately my husband was laid off & we've had NO insurance for over a year. I can't afford prescriptions or visits to the dr. right now. I was trying to find a sinus rinse that might alleviate some of the misery I'm going through. I'm sorry if you think I'm stupid & dumb, but I was following the advice of someone here!! I don't need people like you making comments like the one above, so I will leave. Hope you feel good about yourself making such nasty comments.
P.S. THANK YOU to the many here who have been supportive, but I really don't need to come here & find a post like this to me. People need to think before they post comments. I guess I never figured I'd get "flamed" on a CPAP board, but once is enough for me. I won't be back.

By the way, here's the recipe that was listed under big crocs post:
From chrisp:(quoted)
"As far as your sinus problems go. Try this..Boil 1 Qt of water and add 2 tablespoons of salt . When it cools add a teaspoon of alcohol. Get an eye dropper and put a dropperfull in each nostril while laying on the bed with your head off the side so it can run into your sinuses..Let it soak in for a minute...Do this a few times a day. Adjust the salt mix to suite your tastes Alcohol isn't really necessary but it givs a feeling that something is happening at first...You can also add a teaspoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) Then you will have made you own sinucleanse. A product that is sold in cute little packets at the store . When you clear up your sinuses everything will work better. Your pressures will be lower . your attitude will change cause cpap really works...Be sure to wash your mask every day...Those little nastys that grow in there just grow in your sinuses again.... Be a happy hosehead"

And please note....chrisp's recipe said it was just like SinuCleanse. I had no idea it wasn't the same thing or very close.
Your comments were downright rude & uncalled for, airhead.

You're right; airhead was out of line. There's no place on a board like this for insulting comments. But as you noted, the board consists mostly of very helpful and nice folks. Why let the rude comment of an "airhead" ruin this experience for you?

Give it another chance - just ignore the noise, it's only the sound of air whooshing through a rude individual's head.

I like to second what Spiritus and Paul B have said. We tend to be insensetive and arogant at times in our lives. Maybe a drink makes it worst at this time of the year
I have a learnt a lot from this forum about the details of CPAP and the issues I have had. It has been a great source of help. Don't let one bad thing to ruin all the good in this forum for you. It's not a perfect world. Do it for you. I pray that things get better for you (and me too ).
I don't do mornings !!!

Well, again I'm near tears, but this time it's happy ones. I am an emotional person, (heck, some commercials make me cry!), but I was upset that I'd finally found "someone" to talk to about sleep apnea & all the great information & support here, only to have those insensitive remarks made. I will continue to read & enjoy all the information & sharing of personal stories, but it will take me awhile to get the courage up to post a question again.
Thanks for the kind words & hope everyone has a healthy & happy 2005

I justg returned from trip and read this thread. You know, we don't thinmk about the very nature of people on this and other sleep chats. That nature is we are for the most part sleep deprived and therefore grumpy. I have sparred with a few on these boards and usually the next day realize that it is just our nature to be short fused. I hope all involved here can unjderstand this and not take offense personally. We are also the most understanding too, who else could relate to how we are and feel than ourselves. Stay aboard all and practice patience. It's worth it as we all need each other.

Pardon the typos, it's late and I forgot to proof read.
