Great Information
I've been on the cpap for 7 yrs. now and have learned more from this site than I can imagine.......I had never even heard of a full face mask and have never once been shown one or asked if I wanted to try one......!!!! I've had so many different type masks and had nothing but problems from leaking.........I just got another mask the other day after having problems with the nasal pillows and I'm noticing that this one is leaking under my nose instead of in my eyes......Is it dangerous to have air leaking out like this......??? Perhaps I'm not getting the pressure I need.......I had my cpap machine checked not long ago to make sure the pressure was correct and it is........I also wondered if anybody here has ever had problems with laryngitis.....?? That's been my most recent problem......Some mornings I wake up and have absolutely no voice at all until I have my coffee....Then the voice eventually comes back......I was also unaware of the humidifiers people have been discussing....I have this old thing that has to be filled with distilled water and sometimes the water leaks from the top.....Perhaps it's because I live in Montana and it seems we're always about 10 yrs. behind the rest of the world!!!!! Anyway, just wanted to say I'm thankful for this site and I'll check in from time to time......Good Dreams Everyone!!!

Hi ginnylee,
If the humidifier for your cpap machine is not a heated humidifier, you need to ask your doctor's office to tell the DME (home health care supplier) to get you a heated humidifier. Laryngitis in the morning is not something that should be happening to you just because of cpap use. Heated humidification might help.
