Update on Hubby(This one's for Echo!)

Post by DoriC » Sat Nov 22, 2008 7:06 pm

We've hit the 3month anniversary, and I think we're finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Mike is sleeping better(7-8hrs), much more alert, more energy, (helped me do all my Thanksgiving shopping yesterday) ,we've resolved the skin rashes by learning how to fit the mask properly, Padacheeks, CereVe Skin Lotion, but most important, all my questions are ALWAYS answered either on the forum or PMs, (you know who you are), which has made all the difference. I'm learning how to interpret the Encore Reports and I'm not so nervous about changing settings if necessary,(I think we've pretty much found the "sweet spot"). And guess what, I'm finally learning how to almost sleep through the night myself in case anyone's interested! BTW, we saw our Internist Thurs for followup on Mike's BP, and it was 110/70, haven't seen it that low in a long time. Dr was very pleased with his whole exam. I'm going into a lot of detail here in hopes that any newbies reading this will be encouraged to stay the course. It will get better, I promise. Never thought I'd say that either! Echo, thanks for asking about us.

Dori, everything in your update is great news. So glad to hear Mike's doing better.

This, however, was the part of your message that made me happiest...

I knew you'd get Mike's treatment worked out. Now you can relax, let the machine work its wonders for him, and finally get some restful sleep yourself! You can breathe a sigh of relief and start enjoying good sleep to keep yourself in good health.

You've done a beautiful job caring for your husband, Dori. Time to take care of you now.

Very good to hear that!

Dori - that's really great, wonderful news!!!

You should really give yourself a hearty pat on the back (or a big hug) from all of us, for having the dedication, energy, patience, and great attitude in getting this to work for both you and your husband!! You have been a great role model for other newbies (and newbie wives )

As the others said, it's time to take care of yourself too. And hopefully with your husband's increased energy and alertness you two will again be able to start enjoying some of the activities you used to do together. Have a great thanksgiving

Dori,

You have done a great job. I hope that your husband realizes what a gem he is married to. We should all be so lucky.

Best to you and Mike,

Bev, it's not bad being a ruby or emerald, but my darling husband is a Diamond, so it makes it a little easier to do what I'm doing without question. But thanks for the kind words.
