Help with Encore Pro Analyzer (J Skinner)

Post by SeaPappy » Wed Sep 17, 2008 7:31 am

Can't seem to find a way to get EPA to run on my system (XP SP2). I checked all the links found on search with no answers.

Database Error message is: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Names Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

When I woke up this morning my girlfriend asked me, 'Did you sleep good?' I said 'No, I made a few mistakes.'

When troubleshooting software problems it is useful to know which version of software. In this case there are two - EPA and what I will assume is Encore Viewer.

Assuming it is the Viewer and NOT Encore Pro - that is the problem. Viewer does NOT create the database that EPA is looking for and will NOT work.

You say you have Encore Viewer software. Encore Pro Analyzer does not work with that software - only with Encore Pro, which is not now available to patients, only professionals.

Pro Analyser does indeed not work with Viewer. Viewer does not save to a data base so there is no way for Analyser to see the data. All the data for Viewer is only saved on the card. So far no one has figured a way to save the data to a data base so that Analyser can look at it. You can only print it to an Adobe file or printer.

Encore Viewer does NOT create a SQL database - so when EPA goes searching - it just can't find it - sounds like one of those mission impossible scheme or was that weapons of mass destruction in Iraq

in other words to use EPA you need Encore Pro not Encore Viewer

First you must have Encore Pro, then you must have the DT-3500 Smartcard reader. The reader reads the card into Encore Pro's data base, then if you have James program, Encore pro Analyzer installed it reads Encore Pro's database, and does it's thing.
