How to read the reports
I have been using a auto cpap for almost 2 years, but recently changed to Respironics M Series with C Flex. I have just gotten the software to read the Smart Card, but I don't really know what is good and what is not. I don't have an upper limit on the auto now, but before had a limit of 12. I seemed to sleep better when I had the limit on there; would that make a difference?
Re: How to read the reports
Print out the daily reports,
you want to see:
1. What the 90% pressure is (if auto).
2. What the OA or Apnea Index is (should be down to 2 or less)
3. Vibratory Snore is under control
4. Leak is under control
to confirm therapy is doing its job, if therapy is doing its job your oxygen levels should remain up to normal levels.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Re: How to read the reports
Here is a thread where I asked about reading the sleep study report. I guess it mostly applies to reading machine data. At least I seem to
understand the machine data now. Especially Snoredogs posting was quite informative.

Re: How to read the reports
I think the first thing I need to do is try to get my leaks stopped. I have tried putting the mask on tighter and it just hurts my nose. On the daily reports the chart on leak(LPM) is anything but a straight line. Looks more like the skyline of a city.
I'm not sure what mask to try because this one used to work, but I weighed about 10 to 15 pounds more when I started on cpap therapy, so don't know if that would make a difference. I have used a Respironics Comfort Classic nasal mask and didn't have problems for a long time. Any suggestions on masks? Also does anyone have any suggestions for a recording pulse oximeter
that is reasonably priced?

Re: How to read the reports
Okay, please tell me how to transport my reports to this forum so I can get feedback from you all. I tried a different headgear with nasal pillows last night(Breeze, I think) and I don't think I woke up as much, but was hard to go to sleep and it made my nose irritated. However, after reading a lot of the posts on here, I think I might not have been using enough tape on my mouth as I know I am a mouth breather and used more last night. The VS was less which was good, but AHI is 4.8. I still do not feel rested and didn't sleep enough last night. So tonight think I will use my nasal mask and try the extra tape and see if that helps.
Re: How to read the reports
I'm a newbie (just over a week) and thanks to your suggestions, I've pretty much stopped my rainout issues.
My question is, how do I access the reports? The (overpriced) provider didn't go into that. Can you help me? Equipment is listed below. Many thanks.

OK confuse me. Irritation is caused by movement (mask or pillows) when breathing (1000's of times ea nite). You can tighten things down or use Lansinoh, Gumby recommended.
I have not had any irritation problems using just a dab between thumb & forefinger then smeared on pillows, nares, & lips.
Found where ever there are breast feeding mothers. http://www.lansinoh.com
Good Luck,
GumbyCT who is fond of all mothers

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Sewlucky... you'll need to get a copy of EncoreViewer and the card reader... our hosts have it bundled (and they price match as well).Sewlucky wrote:I'm a newbie (just over a week) and thanks to your suggestions, I've pretty much stopped my rainout issues.

Re: How to read the reports
Thanks for the instructions, however, not being very computer literate, I am still working on how to get a copy of my reports to this forum. Last night I taped my mouth better and used my Comfort Select nasal mask and seemed to not wake up but once during the night. Had 0 Vibratory snores, which is a first, but AHI is 3.2, better, but not as low as I would like it to be. Flow limitations were 2.4. What does that signify? OA was 0.9 and H was 2.2 Average leak was 32.Average pressure was 7.4 with avg 90% 10.0. I woke up with a terrible headache that went away without taking any medication. Any feedback from you folks who have doing this for a long time?
Re: How to read the reports
If you have the software and reader, and you have reports on your computer, I have written out the steps for using photobucket in a Microsoft Word document.
You don't seem to be registered so I can't send you a PM.
If you want that document, PM me and give me your email address and I'll send it to you as an email attachment.
