so many questions!

Hey everyone.
My mom just received her first CPAP machine after being diagnosed with sleep apnea. I was very relieved to find this website as we have no clue what we're doing! She is on medicaid and always has a hard time getting in touch with her doctors. Someone came and set up the machine for her, and briefly explained it, but she has a hard time remembering things or following technology and can't remember anything he said. She has a lot of anxiety, and is having a very difficult time adjusting to this new set up. I had her try it out today and she said it is too high of a pressure and it kind of hurts and makes her feel like she is going to suffocate. I tried it out to see what she meant and I found the pressure too high as well, though I don't have any breathing problems. Can you modify the settings, or do they have it set up to a specific "prescription" of settings which are best for her therapy? Would any of you mind corresponding with me for a while to help me work out the kinks for her? Memory Problems are associated with sleep apnea. This is a lifestyle change with a steep learning curve but can help to improve her health. I would suggest you help her by reading and searching here, there is just sooo much info it is overwhelming to many. Esp. when the memory is affected. Have her write things down if she can. Just try to be gentle as too much can be a turn off.

Start by going to your User Control Panel (upper left) when you are logged on and adding the correct equipment "in text" - avoid using those icons as they all look the same.

Take it one day at a time but there is more to learn.
