I am going in for my first check after being put on the CPAP. It's been 5 weeks and I still hate my mask. I am going to request a different one but have a question. I have extreme dry eye and cannot have any air blowing on my eyes, that is why I am using the current mask I have. In doing some research it looks like most masks vents are between the eyes. Does anyone have any suggestions or a good mask to try that does not blow between the eyes and that you really like?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Re: Mask help
My mask vents straight down the body, but it can be adjusted to point outward, which is what I do.
This keeps it out of my eyes, but right on my BF's neck. If you have a bed partner, that might be an issue.
It's the Nasal Aire II, and I find it very comfortable. If you ask for it, you need to request the "all six sizes in one kit" version. I highly recommend https://www.cpap.com for this. Or join my free test drive. Links to more info about it are in my signature line below.
Cheers,
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
Re: Mask help
Hi, is it possible you are mistaking leaks for vented air? Most vents are actually on the angle between the hose and mask on the plastic bend, which is why I have used both a Comfort Select nasal mask, which vents differently, and the Ultramirage FF one that does vent on the forehead (but never gets in my eyes, even if mask leaks sometimes do), because I sleep on my stomach and the usual mask vents (at the 90 degree angle on the front) would be blocked by the mattress. There are lots of choices, so you need to investigate a bit further.
Re: Mask help
I don't have any mask suggestions, but I do have eye drop suggestions.
My ophthalmologist said all her patients with CPAPs have drier eyes than those who don't. She recommends using Optive or GenTeal eye drops just before putting on your mask. I have dry eyes due to rosacea, so the CPAP compounds things and I've found that the eye drops really help.

Re: Mask help
I have the Resmed Liberty right now because I have the least leakage problems with it for a "full" mask. There's another mask that is similar called the Hybrid.
They have a piece that covers the mouth like a full mask or nasal mask get their coverage, but then extends two nasal pillow up from that mouth covering portion of the mask. (I'm sure CPAP.com has plenty of pics).
In the Liberty, the air is expelled forward at mouth level. If it leaked, its unlikely to put much airflow over your eyes without it being a major leak. Such a leak, I think would come from the mouthpiece and I've had the least problems on keeping that sealed of all the masks. The nasal pillows require a little fussing though. I fuss with them for about 20s before I sleep and have never waken with them leaking after they've been set. (almost a month of use).
