Question about Ultra Mirage Mask

Post by FoxNewsFan » Fri Oct 31, 2008 10:23 am

Hi Folks,

I'm researching the Ultra Mirage Mask. For my Quattro, I use a medium. I notice the Ultra comes in med. standard and med. shallow. Any way of telling if I need standard or shallow short of going to my DME?

Buy'em and try'em.

I found that the shallow is of no value.
Very hard to keep it sealed, compared to the standard.
....BUT, that is just me.

Personally, I just say NO to the DME.

I've always used the "standard", so I don't have any experience with the "shallow".
In any case, you wouldn't have to get a whole other mask.....just the seal. The seals (standard or shallow) are interchangeable within mask sizes.

The shallow is of great value to me, whom it fits. The other sizes did not.

You can email resmed and ask them to send you a set of the cups for fitting the mask.

I found that in Resmed's nasal masks, I'm a shallow. According to the cups, I'm a shallow in the FFM as well. The shallow will fit lower on the bridge of the nose. The "standard" nasal mask went too high above the bridge of my nose (between my eyes) and leaked. The shallow is much better for me.
