anxiety??? Misworded my question...

Post by gucceegrl_702 » Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:17 am

I'm having anxiety during the day when I encounter situations that upset me.
It's like I don't know how to act when I get certain emotions because I'm used to feeing nothing.

That's a really good question. How do you deal with any emotions when your "normal" is so tired that you don't feel emotions.

First off, CELEBRATE!!!!!! You're getting better. I know that it's counter intuitive to celebrate anxiety, but it really is a good thing.

So what do you do with anxiety? I guess everyone has a different answer for that. My martial arts friends talk about any negative feelings (usually pain) like this. The feeling of pain is there to tell you that something needs attention. Now that I know that my arm has been injured, I have that information and I can now ignore it and deal with the situation.

Anxiety is telling you that the situation you are in is uncomfortable. Now you have that information and can respond to the situation.

Another way to work through it might be to note the situations during the day that are upsetting you and think through them that evening or when you have a quiet moment. Pretty soon, those feelings will become your new "normal".

Most of all, just realize that you are getting better.

If the machine is causing heightened anxiety at night while you are asleep then that could definitely spill over into the day also. That would cause you to have more negative emotional reactions because the limbic part of your brain is aggravated. You might try using the PurSleep oils to relax you more at night.

Thank you. Did you go through this at all?

The machine's not a problem. I fall asleep with it fine.

702, this hit me like Maxwell's silver hammer.
This is what is happening to me in the opposite way.
My emotions, sense of humor, imagination, creativity,
are coming back to life.

You're right, I was too tired to feel anything.
I had no energy to fight back at the world.
I had no energy to feel the world.

As I was teasing my better half, the other night and
we were laughing.....she said to me,
"it's so nice to have the man I knew years ago, back"

What an incredible observation.
"If your therapy is improving your health but you're not doing anything
to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

We need more information before we can even begin to give you a sensible answer.

Do you have sleep apnea? For how long? Are you being treated with xpap? When was it started? Do you have a data capable machine and software? What results is it showing?

Not yet, but I'm hoping that I will soon. I've been on the hose for three nights.

Sorry.
I have mild sleep apnea, I started the cpap machine about 5 nights ago.
I dont' have all that stuff, just a standard c-pap.
I was tired I forgot to put my mask on last night.
Coincidentally, I didnt feel anxious at all and I'm back to my "lazy" self.
