Hello people,
I have been told by my friends whist napping in the car I'd fall asleep and fall in deep sleep and then I'd suddnely stop breathing and I get shocked awake with the huge "SNORT!!!!!" noise I make. I even wake myself everytime I do that, only to fall alseep and repeat the same process again again.
If have a nap without cpap I ended up with massive cracker of headache after it!!!! [hate that!]
Snort!!!!!!
Re: Snort!!!!!!
If your cpap treatment is therapeutic, hopefully with continued treatment you'll have less need to nap during the day, but a car ride can lull about anyone to sleep. Hopefully this is long rides you're speaking of not short jaunts. Am I correct that you are sitting upright at these times? You may want to experiment and see if head position makes any difference. I put a c-shaped pillow under my chin to keep my head from falling forward and it seems to help.
Your experience is an example of the ravages of sleep apnea not being just a bedtime issue. In my ideal world (in my mind) I would wake up refreshed and energized for a normal day. I've come a long way, but have not arrived. Good luck on your journey.

Re: Snort!!!!!!
My hubby reported that I gasp - hence the avatar : ) I understand that any time I am not awake I need to use my machine. Hopefully you won't put your body through the dangerous position of not getting enough oxygen. Someone recently posted battery solutions for those traveling.Blue Snuffle nose wrote:Hello people,
