Need a new machine

Post by P40FREDQ » Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:20 pm

Hi!!

I have been using a CPAP machine since 1997.
It changed my life!!!
I never felt better.
Now I couldn't sleep unless I have it on.
My wife wouldn't let me sleep weekends with the kids in the family room because she missed the "sound"
of the CPAP machine.
Trouble is I think I need a new machine. I heard they make them that self adjust.
Since I started feeling better I started getting into Tri_athlete training and lost some weight.
During the Summer and nice weather months I feel great but when the cooler weather comes in I gain a little
weight and start feeling sluggish again
Any suggestions????

Do you have your sleep study appointment yet?

Yep, most insurances (all that I know of) are going to insist on a new sleep study plus new equipment order (script) before they will sell you a new CPAP.

Now, IF you can get a copy of your original script from 1997 AND want to pay out of pocket to buy a CPAP online .... that is doable. A CPAP script is good for life w/the online DME suppliers. OR if you can talk your family doctor into scripting a new CPAP and are willing to pay out of pocket you can also buy online that way.

Since it has been 11 years it wouldn't be all that bad an idea to have another titration study.
