Newbie Experience : Stomach Gas

Post by doctor 18F » Sun Oct 12, 2008 6:18 pm

I'm a relative newbie to BPAP, just sharing some experience I have found to be common. In general the experience is fantastic, took a few days to get used to, feel much more alert all day.

Using a nose mask. Slept on my side one night and got so full of gas I thought I was ready to pop. Not sure why, but I could not release this gas by either of the two well-known mechanisms (as if both ends were stopped up). Bloated and cramped feeling for about 12 hours, then fine after that. Sleeping on back has resulted in no such problems.

Is there any secret to sleeping on one's side without the side effect of being inflated to near burst-pressure?

Oh Gosh...do I remember those days. Suppose it's the 'crawl before you walk' phase, as the first couple
weeks I felt bloated like a toad.
Soon, you do develop the ability to stop swallowing the air, and it will improve greatly after that.
Hang in there.
