Need advice on setting pressures on some CPAPs
Need advice on setting pressures on some CPAPs
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)
I have the same need - the pressure on my machine is set too high for my current weight, and I wish to reduce it carefully until I stop getting "dry mouth" in the morning. I have a REMstar pro, currently set to 14.0 cm. The company I purchased this from is of questionable integrity, and miles away, and I wish to avoid all that and get this done. JRM
Well I can answer 2 of the machines
ResMed
1. machine must be shut off
2. press START and TIMER 20 MINUTES buttons at the same time
3. switch on machine using master switch at the backside of the machine
4. using TIMER 5 MINUTES and TIMER 10 MINUTES buttons increase or decrease pressure (pressure setting is shown on display at reverse side of machine)
5. complete setting by pushing STOP button once
6. now the machine is set to the new pressure and will remember that when being shut off on switched on again
RemStar
Hold down the 2 gray arrows buttons and unplug the machine keep holding the gray buttons down and plug the machine back up. Keep holding them down until you hear the machine beep. You are now in the setup mode to change settings..use them now to go across the menu. The ramp and heat buttons will increase or decrease the settings

Dear TH,
I can't thank you enough for sharing this information with me. I look forward to waking up tomorrow not feeling like a dried up prune!

You are welcome. Dry mouth sometimes comes with mouth breathing so watch out for that. Lowering your pressure will not help with dry mouth if your mouth is wide open..... And if you do not have a humidifier you might want to get one.....they are nice

You are talking about me aren't you
Actually, I have my RemStar fixed at 14 & am sure I am about to transmogrify into a ballon. The CPAP has fixed my OSA but the air is what now wakes me up, repeatedly
Anyway, tonight it goes down to 13. I want to see if that cuts down the 'face rasberrys' emanating from my f/f mask & also want to see if 13 will stop me becoming Colonel Blimp. I would rather become General E. Wellslept.
Cheers
