I am on my 4th night and I am not expecting a miracle but I thought I might so some relief. How long does it take to start feeling better? Plus I am still waking up at the same time every morning and not being able to get back to sleep, is there something else I can do to help with this?

Re: Still Sleepy at work
Me too. But I think it is the work more than it is me. Here's my two cents for free:CrazyMajor wrote:Still Sleepy at work
That depends on a lot of different factors and differs from person to person. For some it all falls into place fairly quickly. For others it takes some work and time. But it is worth it either way. I have heard that three months to a year is the range in which most find their stride and begin to see the big results. But some of the benefits start right away, even during the initial adjustment phase of it all.How long does it take to start feeling better?
Not a bad thing in and of itself, really. Having a regular time to wake up is a big part of good "sleep hygiene." (A term worth googling.)I am still waking up at the same time every morning
That can be common at first. As your sleep architecture changes, your body has to adjust to the changes. It has to learn that it is OK to sleep even after it has gotten more restful sleep than it is used to getting. It should learn if you stick with it consistently. So just give it time for now. If you still have trouble, there are things to try later.not being able to get back to sleep
Research everything that you can in the links that come up when you click on the yellow lightbulb above, "Our Wisdom." The search feature in this forum that searches words used in past posts can help you to look up things in more detail. Cpap.com also has good material worth reading in the links on its site. (They are the hosts of this forum, bless them.) Read all you can in this forum about mouth leaks, masks, and ways to make sure your PAP therapy is effective. Most here use fully data-capable machines to closely monitor their therapy for themselves.is there something else I can do to help with this?
Welcome. Enjoy. Stick around. I thought all the major crazies were in Georgia, not Alabama, though.
Re: Still Sleepy at work
Thanks. Last night was better. Had to make some adjustments on the mask but still the same routine. I am in the Army and patients is something I have to work at. I have noticed the refax has gone and sinus is clear. I plan to stick with it and use this site for support.

After years of denying my body therapy I'm happy to say it only took two months to be comfortable with therapy and begin recuperative rest. Hang in there!
Re: Still Sleepy at work
It took me 6 weeks to get into full compliance, and months before I started feeling better. I had to get a course of Provigil to stay awake at work and function during my learning curve. I could only tolerate 1/2 a pill, but it was a life/job saver for me.
Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: Still Sleepy at work
It was about a month for me. For the first couple of weeks I actually felt MUCH worse. But eventually things settled down and I started feeling better. Now I won't even nap without a hose.
