nasal pillow interfaces at higher pressures!

Post by ufo13 » Sat Jul 16, 2005 11:51 am

TO: dsm and others:

i have used the mirage swift nasal pillows system every night since january, with the PB420 at a fixed pressure of 18 cm H2o. it is a comfortable mask, stable all night and it never leaked even at the fixed high pressure of 18. this is the first mask and i like others have owned many many masks- this is the first that never leaked, and you do NOT have to tighten it very much, just a light feel. (see my other posting under "artwood" which i and others reply to! i had a fixed setting pressure of 18 cm the last 11 years, over 2 machines. last week i got the remstar auto w/c flex & heated humidifier, set at 10cm to 20cm, c-flex set at 3. the difference with the auto and fixed pressure is like night and day! and i still use the swift mask, even more comfortable than before due to the variable pressure and the c-flex feature on breathing out -not fighting the 18cm fixed pressure of before!
i aso use an anti-snore type pillow as others have used and i think it helps with all types of masks especially for side sleepers. this type of pillow is kind of firm usually foam conveluted but the top is thicker than the bottom, etc. this helps me alot both with the masks and also with no stiff neck most morning's.

hope this info helps you and others!!!
