Auto CPAP accessories recommendation needed

Post by christopherind » Sat Jul 09, 2005 7:32 am

Recently, I bought Remstar auto CPAP machine for my mom in India. I thought the box would include all accessories. Since she used it in her hospital only once for testing, she is unable to explain what is required. Even I dont have any clue about this.

Could you kindly recommend the neccessary accessories for auto CPAP machine? Thanks.

I understand we need to buy mask seperately, any recommendations for that, which mask will be comfortable? (she is 60 and needs only during sleep) . What are the other accesories needed?

Can you be more specific and if u can give the website, Thanks.

Christopher,
This forum is hosted by https://www.cpap.com, who are a internet cpap and accesories supplier.

Take a look a their home site, it has a 1-800 number, and get someone to talk to.

1-800 costs nothing if you dial from the states. From some countries outside the state (e.g. Israel, where I live), you can dial it, but have to pay overseas telephone charges. I don't know about India.

The manual should tell you everything you get in the box - can you or your mom check if you really got everything the manual describes?

And yes, you need an interface (mask) and it doens't come with the machine.

Do you know exactly which machine she has? is it the one with cflex?

Does she use a computer and is she considering purchasing the software to monitor how she is getting on with the apnea?

Did she get a humidifier with her machine again it may worth considering one as it stops nose and throat drying out?Even in very humid conditions I always use one.

Mask choice is also an important decision whether to get a full face mask or a nasal mask. It may be a good idea to investing in both as a lot of people just gently let air out of their mouths while they sleep thus affecting the pressure.

The ultra mirage full face mask has a very good write up on the boards and gets very good reviews.

The mirage mask is a very pleasant light nasal mask but very fragile.
