I just got my Ultra Mirage full face mask. It was comfortable and I feel like I get a better seal than I did with the Fisher and Paykel. However, the exhaust ports had a whistling sound. I'm still using the ramp feature on my machine so it gets a little better as the pressure increases but still enough to be a bit buggy! Any suggestions?
I had thought that this had been addressed before on the forum with some suggestions but I did a search and couldn't find it.

Hi Jeanne:
I also use the ResMed Ultra Mirage FF mask. As you have found, the whistling does vary in proportion to the pressure. I found that one time after I removed the silicone exhaust port from the plastic housing of the mask to wash it that I put it back inside out by accident and the whistling increased dramatically. After I corrected this the whistling was much quieter. You might try taking the silicone piece out of the plastic housing of the mask and washing it once, or maybe roll it in your fingers a little bit to sort of "break it in" and then replace (not inside out!) and see how it sounds.

Hi Jeanne,
I remember that discusion 'cause I had a whistler. Some suggestions were:
-water droplets get in the exhaust ports and if you massage the silicone fitting you can work them out (this worked for me).
-check to see if the oieces are all seated together right, a little misalignment can cause the noise (I also did this)... I remember rested gal saying she doesn't take apart her masks for cleaning so that reassembly does not cause these misalignment problems.
- Drill out the exhaust holes larger (I didn't try this one)
Hope these help!
