Old computer dies. Problem setting up new computer with Encore pro. Encore worked fine on old computer with SQL 7. I also have a computer running 2K Pro and I never could get Encore to load on that. Now it doing the same thing with the new computer running XP Home. Have SQL 2000SP4 installed. The server is running. When I install the encore program it says install folder is C:\Program Files\Respironics\Encore Pro But the Database destination folder is grayed out. It then bring up a window saying installation has detected that there is a database server available. But has failed to except a default name & password. Please supply a used name & password. I have a name & password for the server but that does nor work.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can't help, but did want to mention that Encore Pro installed and works fine with Win2K Pro on my PC. I also installed and ran it with no trouble on my aunt's computer which runs Win XP Home. Hope someone can figure out why it won't "go" on your two computers. I know how frustrating 'puter problems can be.
Gil,
When you install Encore Pro it installs MS SQL Server too. If you have SQL already installed, it can be a conflict when Encore Pro installation comes to the point to install SQL. If you don't need earlier version of MS SQL, I suggest to uninstall it and then install Encore Pro and will go fine. I am not sure what to do if you insist on your earlier SQL. Maybe you can attach Encore Pro database to the existing SQL, I never tried.
Hope this helps.

RG - that info if very important
Gil and Sandor,
SQL2000 is newer than SQL 7, you don't uninstall a 2000 for a 7!
Gil, Do you have admin rights on that computer and in the existing SQL?
Can you add an Encore Pro data base to your SQL2k , give it a username and password before you start with the Encore installation process? Then Encore will probably add its tables to the existing server.
Try to be more specifc about the problem - I believe Derek and Mikesus know quite a lot about SQL. Try PMing Derek - but please post the solution publicly, in case others run into the problem.
