I read in a previous post that an AHI average below 5 was acceptable. I am using A Remstar Auto with C-Flex at 7-18 cm with an Ultra full face mask. Over the past month I have seen a steady rise in the AHI from 3-4 to 7-8. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You may need to make some adjustments to your pressure. Also i found a lower C-Flex setting helps too. I use a setting of 1.
When I started in early May, my AHI was 45. I have it down in the range of 4 to 7 now, with lots of optimizing and tweaking. I also think the REMstar detects false positives on obstructive apneas as I'm in the transition states of falling to sleep and again when I'm waking up. Looking at my historical data most of my OA events occur in the first half hour and last half hour of my night. Inbetween my AHI is well under 5 always. Unless i wake up, and I can clearly see on my data plots the times I woke up because my OA frequency on the plots gets really active.
Also, I need to get back into exercising more and lose a few pounds, this will also improve AHI. I don't think xpap is the total answer, overall good physical condition will help too.
IMHO

These things can also affect your AHI
1) Sleeping position (some are worse on back than side and vise versa)
2) Alcohol, sedatives, muscle relaxers (can cause increase in AHI)
3) Mask leak (like mentioned above, mask leak could be interpreted as apnea, hypopnea) so check your seal.
Ultimately, how you feel is most important, do you feel you're getting the same therapeutic benefit, if not call your doctor and let him know right away so he/she can suggest changes.
