do I need a tech?

Forgive me if this is a silly question but I'm new. If I end up buying an autopap instead of renting one, since its my first time, do you recommend that at first I rent just to try one out w/the help of the tech they'd send to my home? If buying is a better idea right off the bat, do you recommend I still engage the help of somekind of tech to come over and see it is being used correctly and monitor it periodically for results???? T
