Comfortlite swivel connecter

I find the swivel connecter on my Comfortlite 2 very annoying and want to remove it. I assume I can just cut it off but I'd like to replace it with a short length of hose that would then attach to the main hose. something light like the one on the Aura would be great. Anybody have any suggestions for a fix?

Many have removed the swivel. I just noticed a post the other day which mentioned just pulling it loose. Most have resorted to cutting. I cut mine and replaced it with a 12" hose with built in swivel I bought at CPAP.com. Just keep some ridgidity in the end of the mask hose so it will stick in the extender.
