CPAP for a Nap? Advice for an ignorant Aussie
Since finding this forum, getting my APAP, and finally acquiring effective therapy for my sleep apnea, I don't seem to need to nap as I did before (prior to this, I'd need 30-60 minutes every day after work, in my recliner, would just "doze off"). And, my RT did tell me to avoid napping--I've read that as well, that napping does interfere with good sleep at night--makes sense. But, if I did nap, I'd certainly try to use my CPAP--those OSA events are just as destructive during a daytime nap as they are during regular nighttime sleep.

since being on cpap i certainly don't nap like i used to, which was every day for 3 hours, LOL, some "nap", huh? now on the occasion that i do nap, i definitely use my cpap, otherwise i wake up groggy, disoriented, headache-y and i sleep for too long (like if i fall asleep on the couch watching a movie...that still happens on occasion )...on cpap, i can take a 45 minute nap and wake up refreshed
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...
CPAP nap?
For what it's worth my Doctor (a pulmonary specialist) said to never sleep even a nap without CPAP. Thankfully, like others I find that I don't need a nap in the PM any more. One thing that has helped me in this regard is that I take a brisk 30 minute walk in the afternoon every day. Regards
