How long do heated hoses last

Post by krousseau » Mon Dec 17, 2007 4:14 pm

How long has your heated hose lasted?

I like sleeping in a cold room but the XPAP air is going to be cold this winter-started routing the tubing over my head instead of under the blankets. I haven't had a rainout problem but boy my nasal passages got cold last night!

Hi krousseau,
I have a heated hose which I bought in April '06. It's still going even though the power supply failed and overheated it. It does not leak and the element still provides heat.

Merry Christmas,

I've had mine for a year and a half so far. No problems at all. I'm pretty sure Rested Gal has had hers for about 3 years. You could PM her and ask.

Yes, used my first one every night for 3 and a half years with no problem. I more than got my money's worth, I believe.

Recently I switched to the backup heated hose I had waiting in the wings. The old one still worked fine heating-wise, but had finally developed a tear near the reinforced cuff. I patched it for awhile, then decided to start using the new one.

Thank you for your responses-found a loft window has blown open. Wondered why it seemed so much worse that last winter when we got into the low 20's outside. Maybe it is the higher pressure too-is there a wind chill factor in CPAPs? Driving to town to get some lab-ratting supplies to rig up a hose heater while waiting for a heated hose.
