Smart Card and "non compliance"

Post by Selles » Fri Jun 03, 2005 11:04 am

Hi...I am very new to the C-Pap machine. Got it in April. Right after I went to the hospital in Renal Failure, then once more for electrolyte imbalance. I am on the transplant list for a new liver.

Because of my liver I have developed Pulmonary Hypertension.

To make a long story short.....this thing is horrible. I use the nasal cannual because the face masks were giving me clostrophobia. Also within 20 minutes of putting it on I begin to develop a sinus headache that goes all the way to my eye. When I take it off, it goes away in about an hour.

I am leaving the machine running all night but it goes on the floor. They are coming to check the "smart card". I have aBiPap Pro by Respironics. When they take the card out, can they tell if it is actually in my nose???

I'd like to wear it but am afraid to tell anyone for fear of non-compliance.
Thanks,
Selles

"a sinus headache that goes all the way to my eye"

Sounds familiar - Just what happens to me if I don't make sure my heated humidifier is on and set high enough -
