Travelling to Europe with a CPAP

I was recently in Europe for a month and I would like to relate my success!
I was on a total of 10 airplanes and my CPAP never came out of it's bag once. I was never even questioned as to the bags contents and we were through some very, very stict security check points.
The flight over was not an issue nor where any other flights as to my ability to sleep. we were in Executive Class but I didn't fully recline the seat. While there was a plug-in I did not use my machine.
Be sure that your machine has dual power and while you operate it at home on 110 V Europe is 220 v. Look t the specifications label on your machine to see it's exact specs. Mine says '110V-220V'.

It is imperative to have a long extension cord as the plug-ins are not necesaarily by the bed. In Europe you need an adapter to fit their plugs. This is important - TAPE THE ADAPTER TO THE EXTENSION CORD. The reason for this is you will leave the adapter behind in the wall plug. I did it and it is hard to get another one. I had my humidifier so I plugged it and the CPAP in to the extension cord.
I never was able to locate distilled water so I had to use bottled drinking water and in a few cases I used tap water. in my humidifier chamber. It did leave slight mineral deposits but they did clean up easily.
I am not proud of this but I never did sanitize for the entire month and I never had any issues. I guess you can just chalk this up to luck.
I was extremly apprehensive about my using a CPAP in Europe and on a ship (which was actually 110v and a separate plug for 220V) but now I realize I shouldn't have been.
