I just found the site and have been reading and decided to join the conversation.
I have had a CPAP for about 1.5 years and it is the 2nd greatest thing that has ever happened to me (besides my wife). I am 31 years old and am sure I had apnea since 14-15.
The wake up call was destroying my and 3 other cars driving home from work one day. I only woke up after I was in a ditch. I was falling asleap at work at home.
The CPAP benifits have been too numerious to count.
My attitude was so bad my wife was threating divorce
I could not work effectivly, falling asleap driving on the way to and from work
I had gained weight from 200 lb to 415 lb now have lost 65 pounds and am losing about a pound a week.
I am happy I get a full nights sleep in 7 hours.
I dream wonderfull vivid dreams ( i never dreamed when I had apnea that I can remember)
The greatest benifit is that after 30 years of almost nightly bedwetting it vanished completly and immediatly.
I am a CPAP evanglist. I look for people who look tired and pass out business cards of my sleep doctor. I have already had three people who I referred get a CPAP and change their lives.
I have done some research into my family history and am convinced my grandmother who died in a car wreck, my brother, my uncle, and my nephew (15 years old) all have or had apnea.
My CPAP saved my life, marrige, sheets.

Sleeplover, welcome to the cpaptalk forum.
You have a very interesting story. Please monitor the posts on the forum and comment as you like. I'm sure you will be able help convince many users and potential users of the benefits of cpap therapy.
How has your experience been with getting equipment that works for you?
Thanks for posting your introduction.

Hi SleepLover!
Welcome to the boards. Your story sounds familiar to me because I am also 31 years of age right now and I'm sure before I married my wife and she told me about my snoring I had probably been apnic since I was about 20 or somewhere in there.
I also have wonderfully vivid dreams now that I can breathe at night, too!
Again, welcome. Looking forward to your participation with the boards!

Welcome!
Thats an amazing story.
I've looked back through my family as well and identified grandfather and great grandfathers who passed away from hearts strained by years of poor sleep.
You are most welcome on our boards, I look forward to seeing you around!
