FF mask and laryngeal reflux

Post by napagirl » Mon Dec 03, 2007 8:46 pm

Hi,

I recently found out (through my allergist, of all people!) that the severe hoarseness and tighness in my throat, that I thought was due to my severe inhalant allergies, is most likely due to reflux. The "test" was to take 2wks of RX med called Aciphex. Well, after day 3, the hoarseness, tightness, and sore throat are gone! Yay!

But I am convinced that my cpap in some way is contributing to this problem, since it seemed to come on with the therapy. I have a FF mask. I have tried several of the nasal masks, but just ended up wasting money since I have nasal congestion.

Does anyone have any experience with this? My pressure is set to 8, and I have experimented with the CFLEX at all three settings. Didn't make a difference. I usually leave it on 2.

Any advice?

You didn't get a response so I am bringing this back to the top to see if there is someone out there that can help you.

I have reflux but no issues with hoarseness. A friend has it and said that he had trouble with aspirating the acid into his lungs and he felt like he couldn't breathe and his throat was sore and that was it.

Good luck.
