Resmed Activa

Post by rdport63 » Sun Dec 02, 2007 10:48 pm

Can anyone tell me about a better mask than the Activa. Mine is too active and keeps sliding up. Not working as effectively. Thanks

That's what I found with it. I had the "M". I went back to the Gel in my Sig. It works better for me. If you don't use a FF mask , be sure to control mouthbreathing. Jim

Activa TOO Active!

Post by nosbig17 » Mon Dec 03, 2007 7:11 am

I have found that the Activa will move in and out with your breathing when treatement pressures gets much below 6cm. As Joyce indicated, you need enough pressure to keep the active cell inflated.

I don't think any mask is right for everyone. That said, I do think it's worth some experimentation to see if a mask can be made to work. Each of us has a different facial topography so what works for me may not work for you and vice versa!

I have the Activa and like it mostly, but it is too big and does move on my face during the night. I need to find something different. If the Activa came in small I am sure it would work great. There was a thread on this some time ago about all the Activa users that would do better if there were a small size. The length from the top of the bridge of my nose to my upper lip is not long enough for the Standard size and others noted they didn't like how it sat on their upper lip.

I was thinking about trying the Comfort Gel.

Let me know if you find something you like better rdport63, I am right behind you on this one.

Someone on this site mentioned rolling up the bottom part of the head gear strap before clipping it to the front. I did that and just taped it in place and it fits much better. They are perfect for me when they are new.
