Hello,
I took melatonin for about a month to help me not wake up in the early morning hours. I got 1 mg tablets that dissolved sublingually (under the tongue). I found that just 1/2 tablet was enough to keep me asleep.
When sleepguy offered a free trial of his pur sleep essential oils I tried them and the ones with lavender really help keep me asleep. I still use the melatonin if I absolutely need good sleep - big events the next day but otherwise the oils do it for me.

As for the machine - it doesn't sound good - maybe your dme can make sure it is functioning properly (sounds like it isn't) - perhaps post about that separately as I'm sure one of the experienced knowledgeable folks here knows exactly what to do.
