I don't know how good - this is a site I was referred to a couple months ago as I have adrenal issues which aren't being addressed.

Doctors need to check for thyroid problems when the symptoms warrant it. It isn't just people with OSA that need this checked, but symptoms of depression, fatigue, sluggishness, as well as being overweight are reasons to do this simple blood test. I am sure there are more symptoms on the list.
When going on thyroid medication, other meds will probably have to be adjusted to find optimal doses. For example, if the thyroid problem was causing depression symptoms, and thyroid is started, then the antidepressant medication needs to be adjusted or perhaps in time eliminated.
My own thyroid history is that I was put on thyroid back in HS. I stayed on it for a few years. I was able to get off it in time. I get my TSH checked every couple of years now. It isn't a life sentence for all.

Synthroid is a synthetic thyroid hormone replacement. It works with most hypothyroid patients if their bodies can convert the T4 to T3. Some people don't get good results on Synthroid and need or prefer a bio-identical thyroid replacement (Armour Thyroid). It's as important to pay attention to your symptoms as to your clinical blood levels.
Many people who have apnea have thyroid issues, but one doesn't necessarily cause the other.
Thyroid replacement therapy (either synthetic or bio-identical) are among the safest and cheapest medical treatments.

That is a fiarly small dose so hopefully you dont have issues. I have researched and found that the thyroid and osa have been linked and often wonder if I have one due to the other since I was diagnosed with thyroid disease 3 yrs ago and OSA 6 months ago. I use to be on Levoxyl and have switched to Thyrolar which works a little differently treating 2 hormones seperately (T3 & T4) instead of just treating the one hormone which inturn effects the other. Between hypoglycemia, low thyroid, osa, and 2toddleritis I have alot of areas of fatigue covered.
I received a copy of my thyroid lab results late yesterday and they were as follows:

My doctor's recommendation: Synthroid 0.025MG; 1 each day from now on.
