Sorry, this is jsmythe, I forgot to log in.Anonymous wrote:I too use the UM FF, and it leaks like a sieve unless I have the straps so tight that they feel like a steel band clamped around my face. If they are not, it leaks like crazy no matter how I adjust it.So did the Quattro. The UM FF is a comfortable mask, if it just would not leak so much.
FF masks and higher pressures
Thanks to everyone for responding. I am seriously looking at the Comfortfull 2 mask. I like my Ultra Mirage but the leaks are driving me nuts. I start out the night fine but after 5 hours it starts with leaks and only gets worse. I've tried silicon putty, extra straps, repositioning the headgear, etc. without success. The DME is worthless on this as they pass it off as normal. I don't think that waking up with my eyes dried out is normal.

I am a Flexi Fit 407 Nasal Mask user, but my husband is a Mirage Quattro FF user. He loathes his mask.. ripping it off every night at four o'clock in the morning. Many other users love this mask... so I am not sure why he is so uncomfortable. I adjusted the straps, the humidity... everything and he just loathes it. I went on the cpap auction and bought the ComfortFull2. I am very excited and cannot wait to get it for him. I just want him comfortable. I'll let you know what he thinks of it once I get it.
If the ComfortFull2 doesn't work out for him, I could always keep it for myself as a back up (when I get a cold).
I highly recommend checking the auction out. I even bought a Comfort Gel Nasal mask for myself... wanting to try it out. Not having to pay full retail price also helps for those of us on a budget wanting to try more comfortable masks! I will get them soon and let you know.

ComfortFull 2
I use the CF 2 and love the mask. I get a great seal and it's very comfortable even with my high pressure of 14 EPAP 18 IPAP. I have low leak rates and a low AHI averaging about 1.
There are three types of headgear and they are very different. I know there are several opinions on the matter, but I think the most comfortable one is the Premium Headgear with EZ Peel Tabs. I find the more expensive 'Comfort Headgear' to be uncomfortable because of the narrow straps. The narrow 'Comfort' strap digs into my neck unlike the wider Premium version strap. I haven't tried the older Deluxe Headgear, but have read in the forums that the Premium headgear is better.
So if you try the mask and find it uncomfortable because of the 'Comfort Headgear", give it a second chance with the Premium Headgear.
