M Series Pro software question

I'm going to try and convince my sleep lab to spec a Respironics "M Series Pro C-Flex CPAP Machine" tomorrow based on the "Pro's" ability to use the "Encore Pro" software.

They said I'd be receiving a Respironics "M Series PLUS C-Flex CPAP Machine" the last time we talked, so I'm hoping they are a bit flexible.

My question is:

Can the "M Series Pro" use both the "EncoreViewer" and the "Encore Pro" software?

The reason I ask is that the listing for the "Pro" on cpap.com only mentions the "EncoreViewer" as "Optional Software". There's no mention anywhere of "Encore Pro" software compatibility.

I suspect the "Pro" can use either, but I'm hoping someone here who has one can actually verify this for me so I'm not disappointed after "going to the mat" with the sleep lab to get it based on the "Encore Pro" software I "thought" would work.

the M series Pro can use either Encore Pro or Encore Viewer.

Yes, It can use both. However Encore Pro has been pulled by Respronics and is not to be sold to patients because you could change your pressures and machine parameters by changing the perscription inside the card. It has been replaced by Encore Viewer to be sold to end users. Pro has become rather hard to find. Viewer gives the same information as Pro and can be saved through Adobe Print file. You can't erase the card in viewer but can be done with mycpap.org's utility program. The only thing I really dislike about Viewer is that since it does not maintain a data base it will not work with James Skinners Pro Analyzer.

Good luck in getting the "M" Pro machine it really is worth the difference from the "Plus".
