smartstart won't work with ultra mirage

I hope somebody can help me? I have a Resmed Spirit and my Smartstart won't work with the new mask I have been trying, the Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask. The Smart Start works just fine with my CL2. Does it make a difference if you use a nasal pillow vs. full face mask. This board has been pivotal in my compliance to Cpap. Thank you.

ResMed machines will NOT smartstart using a full face mask. It tells you in the book is how I found out as mine won't work either using a umff mask.
