An Early Christmas Present

Post by jrfoster » Sun Nov 25, 2007 8:51 am

After 18 months on CPAP I have finally had a good week! The last weeks Encore Pro report showd that my average AHI for the week was 1.5! And wonders of all wonders, last Thursday night was 0.5 with 0 apneas!

This is the best week ever and I hope that there are many more to come. I wanted to share this good news with you and give hope to those who are still struggling with CPAP therapy that if you hang in there, good things will come!

Jeff

Jeff--- Congratulations. I know the feeling. I reported on getting to 1.0 after eight months of cpap just last week. Today my 7 day avg. was 0.8. I never thought I would get there. It's only through the help I've received here that I was able to do it. I wish you continued success and dropping numbers. When it happens it's a real epiphany. Great feeling, isn't it?

Congratulations on the great numbers Jeff. I use the same mask and was wondering what your leak rate numbers run on it? Mine are high for some reason even with it cranked down pretty tight and with my mouth taped. Also, do you you sleep on your side or back and do you stay in the same position or turn at night? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to figure out what is going on with me since my numbers are no where near that good with the same mask.

I use the Profile Lite mask ,and your profile shows that you are using the Comfort Gel, which is supposedly the "upraded" version of Profile Lite. Anyway, my average leak rate is at 36 LPM. My top straps are very loose and even hang down, while the bottom straps are only pulled to where there is no sound of leakage..not tight at all.

I start out on my back until I feel like going to sleep, then turn over to my side and begin sleeping. This process goes on all night. From my side to my back at least 4-5 times during the night. I still am looking for that all night sleep. If I could get 6-7 hours of straight non-interrupted sleep it would make a world of difference. But one step at a time!

Jeff

Sorry, I didn't click on the picture and assumed it was the same mask. Your leak rate is much better than mine. I hope you continue to have great ahi and increased hours of sleep.
