Sore bridge of nose with Full Face Mask

Post by Beck » Fri Nov 23, 2007 5:58 pm

Have been using CPAP for 2 weeks now and tried Resmed Liberty and now using Ultra Mirage Full face mask. Like the mask but cannot stand the sore bridge of the nose. Tried band aids but my nose still felt very sore all the next day. Any suggestions? Tried moleskin and medical tape but made the mask leak and pushed on my nose so hard I couldn't breathe very well through my nose. HELP !!! I'm frustrated and NEED a good nights sleep.

You might want to try the PAD A CHEEK Nose Bridge Protector
You'll have to email Karen Moore to order it, since it is a new product and not yet available on her website.
Her email address is: treeloftstudio@yahoo.com

Maybe I'm asking a dumb question, but did anyone show you how to adjust the forehead piece to control the position of the mask on the bridge of your nose? One would hope your DME went through that with you.

I've been using the UMFF for 2 1/2 years and it's my favorite. Properly sized and adjusted, it should NOT make anything sore. I set my forehead piece in fht full, upright position and the top straps quite loose so that the forehead piece hardly touches my forehead. I adjust it with virtually all of the tension on the bottom straps. Tension needs to be somewhat snug, but not tight.....the "flaps" need to expand somewhat to make a seal against the face. If it's TOO tight, it'll crush that seal and possibly leak even worse.

I use the Pad A Cheek Nose Bridge Protection Pads, too and my sore nose has been eliminated. Email Karen Moore at treeloftstudio@yahoo.com and she'll customize it to fit your particular mask. It's soft did not make the mask leak.
