pressure on bridge of nose

Post by Guest » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:18 am

I have problems with allergies/nasal congestion, so I have been using a full face mask. I have the Ultra Mirage, which seals well for me. My problem is that the more I wear the mask the more I am aware of the pressure it puts on the bridge of my nose. Can anyone recommend a full face mask that is slightly wider in that area?
Thank you!

Pressure on Bridge of nose

Post by Shannon » Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:04 pm

Greetings,

I use the same kind of face mask (Ultra Mirage) and it's worked very well. Although I'm not sure if changing the size of the mask would releave the pressure on the bridge of the nose. The mask does have an adjustable forhead support which tilts Forward/Back, I would suggest trying to re-adjust the forhead support by tilting it back 1 or 2 notches and see if that reduces the pressure on the bridge of the nose.

Is it just the top that the pressure is being too much or is it the sides as well? If it's just the top, either pm padacheek or go to http://www.padacheek.com. She's got a pad for it.

If it's the sides as well, you might want to try either a Hybrid (brand name) or a Liberty. They don't have anything on the bridge of your nose as they are a combination of a pillows style mask and also have a piece that covers your mouth. I have a Hybrid and use it nightly.

Thanks, cflame!

I also just started wearing a FFM (Quattro) last night and have much irritation on the bridge of my nose. In the middle of the night I put a small piece of mole foam over the spot on my nose and that helped a lot.

I just looked at the pad-a-cheeck web site and see that their product is for the part that goes on the forehead rather than nose. I do think I will get that since I can foresee skin irritation there over time!

I always had issues with maks on my bridge and if they didnt rub they leaked. I stongly reccommend checking out a liberty or hybrid if you have unfixable issues.
