Encore Pro Error what does it mean?

Post by sleepycarol » Sun Nov 18, 2007 1:45 pm

I hope someone can enlighten me on what I need to do to correct this problem. I have been downloading my data every few days to track my therapy. It is awesome to see the progress and the problem areas with the program.

Everything has been working fine until last night. I went to download my card and the following error message appeared and it won't go any further.

Error source - Respironics smartcard2.type0.1
Error # 80040213

What has happened and what do I need to do to correct it?

Thanks for your input.

Have you changed where the card reader USB port plugs in. Once you install the drivers for the card reader, it is picky about the port you use.

I got a similar error code one day last week but I can't remember exactly what the code was. I had the card inserted upside down.

I am still using the same port and I checked and my card is right side up.

Carol,

Go up to the Search and search on "80040213". There's about 4 other threads that came up. You MIGHT have to erase the card.....from the couple of threada that I read......but, check them out for yourself.

Okay, I read the threads as well and have erased my card as I haven't erased the data on it and unsure how much it actually stores.

Hopefully with the erased card it will work tomorrow.

Smartcard

The software might need to be reinstalled and the smartcard reformated, make sure the card reader is plugged into the right port and the smartcard properly inserted into the card reader.

I coulda sworn I replied to this last night - I musta forgot the last part, eh. See men just can't multi-anything

Sounds like the reader is not reading the card for some reason. Trying the pencil eraser thingy on the contacts is prob the easiest. Could your card be corrupt or unformatted?

I know from time to time, I have to unplug my reader from the USB port then plug it back in - so it gets detected. But that gives a diff. error.

Good Luck

I erased the card and that seems to have fixed it. I was able to download Sunday night's data on Monday without any error messages.

Unfortunately, I forgot to put my card back into my APAP and so lost out on recording last night's data (Monday).

Oh well. When I saw it laying here this morning near the computer I went ahead and put it back into my machine so I am good to go tonight!!

Thanks for everyone's help.
