Remstar Encore Plus software

Post by michaelho » Mon Nov 19, 2007 3:45 am

Remstar Encore Plus software - is it worth purchasing to monitor your own state?
Or is it just as easy to send the Card to the CPAP provider to get a printout from time to time?
Just purchased the machine after rental and inquired about the software. In Australia it's $299 - so all you experienced people, would it be worth it to purchase?

Cheers, Michael, Australia

If it wasn't for the software I would have given up a long time ago. I was titrated at a pressure of 7. Using an APAP and the software I found my ideal pressure is 9.5. I also got control of my leaks thanks to the software.
You also need to be sure that your DME will read your card. Some charge for this service. I have heard of them charging as much as $30. I read my card weekly, if my DME charged $5 per reading, the software and reader would be paid for in 1 year.
Does everyone NEED the software? NO. But if you have any problems it DOES help you figure out what's going on so you can fix the problem. I wouldn't be without it!
