LOL! (yes....you did sound like her...hahaha)
I'm sure there's all sorts of things going on with doctors.
As an RN, I would work with interns and residents who were sooooo nice. But once they got out in the world, they turned obnoxious and insensitive. I think its pretty hard to be a doc in todays world. Sooooooo many patients and they can't take their time with them or they'll get behind and in trouble for not seeing enough in a day. I'm sure it gets overwhelmingly frustrating. They might not want to order too many tests, but the patients might be ticked off if they don't.
Then there was my OB/GYN and her husband (also an OB/GYN) who got so frustrated with the insurance companies that they gave up and went to an Indian reservation to live and doctor.
My cardiologist got so fed up with the politics at the hospital, he quit and moved to Florida.
I think there are just all sorts of personality-types as MDs.......just like every other profession. Unfortunately, it seems to matter more if we get a jerk of a doctor, more than a jerk of a plumber.
With my fibromyalgia, I've had alot of doctors, and I've only had 1-2 that really made me happy.
The Internist I have now makes me really happy. He has excellent judgement and is very organized in his thinking. He trusts his clinical skills too and doesn't over-test. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't do enough hands-on exams.......but nothing bad has come of that yet.
He's part of a big organization (The Care Group), and I think they have certain ways of doing things, taking notes, keeping records, ordering tests, etc., etc., that makes things run much more smoothly. Unfortunately, his staff sucks. hahaha I guess we can't have everything!
I had an echo and a nuclear med scan of my heart once and there was what might have been shadow, and nobody really questioned it......maybe because the stress echo was normal??
Are you going through perimenopause? I've had a ton of irregular beats since then. They seem to come and go every 2 weeks. Calcium and magnesium help them alot. Caffeine makes them awful.....but sometimes I put up with them, just to be more awake!
Keep me posted!
