Encore Pro Software Error

Post by Flying_Norseman » Mon Nov 12, 2007 8:15 am

This morning I kept getting an error when trying to read my card. The error was "unable to update the database." This happened several times so I exported my data and deleted the database. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. After setting things up again, I got the same error.

Being in IT I understand that error messages are not always indicative of the real problem. Could it be that the data on the card got corrupted? Before I format the card again, has anyone else had this problem?

Ouch!

Happy to say I've never had that problem. Since re-installing software didn't fix it, I'm betting on the card, too.

Nice to hear you're in IT ... that was my home for more years than I care to remember. I started just as wired boards were going out.....

Kinda sounds like your SQL server wasn't running (or something along those lines).
Did it go through the motions of reading the card?
Your description is pretty brief.
I doubt if your card is corrupted.

Yes it started to read the card and did the first thing it usually does (I just click ok there never really paid attention to it) then it acts like it is reading the card for a few minutes then errors out say that there is an error updating the database. The MYSQL server was running.

If you have more than one USB port ... you have to make sure you plug the card reader back into the same one you had it plugged in when you installed the drivers.

I've attached mine to different USB ports and it has still worked (as it should).

Well, I formatted the card and set it back up. I was able to dowload data this morning with no problems.
