I'm questioning something the doc's office did..........
Hi all,
I began APAP treatment back in April. I saw the doc around 3 months later and his nurse down/up-loaded my info. I could see how I was doing.
Then I had another appointment 3 months later. The nurse gave me all the info and a graph....but it was an average of all the time since April. I told the nurse that I wanted to see how I was doing the last 3 months. She acted like I was asking for too much. (but I still insisted on having it). Wouldn't that be the only way you could tell if you were improving/getting worse, etc.??

Generally, they select just the last 5 days of data to download in detail.

Could it be she didn't know how to do what you were asking?

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Statistically speaking, I'd prefer to see a graph (like EPA) showing all 6 months so you can see the trends. However, if you only have data and no graphs, then two separate sets of data would be more useful than one set of averages.

Try driving to a big town next time and deal with a big sophisticated sleep lab or DME.Country4ever wrote:....... This is a small town office, and the doc's staff leaves alot to be desired.

You won't leave the country or complain about it again.
Out in the country people are smart enough to know that "sophisticated" is an insult not a compliment.

Guest,
As an RN who has worked in smaller towns and larger towns, I have to say that I would always choose the bigger towns for medical treatment.......ALWAYS. I LOVE living out in the country and living by a small town, but when it comes to medical care...........BIG CITIES always win. I have run into nothing but incompetence in smaller towns.
The reason I'm even going to this sleep doc is that he used to work at the sleep lab in the big city I had it done in......then he moved to a smaller town/hospital. His staff is nice, but have bumbled so many things so many times.

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

Mindy is correct. You need software if you wish to analyze trends. You may be able to get away a series of 6 monthly averages (24 weekly would be even better).Country4ever wrote:... Am I correct in assuming that if you average out the last 6 months info (instead of the last 3), it won't tell you if you're improving or getting worse?
Ask your doctor if xPAP is right for.
Side effects include staying awake all day and asleep all night, reduced snoring, clear thinking, increased energy, decreased blood pressure, reduced chance of stroke or heart attack, possible weight loss, increased libido, overall better quality of life. If you experience any of these side effects, be sure to talk to your friends and family so they can check with their doctor to see if xPAP is right for them.
