new sleep test

went to the new doctor friday, he looked at my test results from my lsat test and said that my machine never got set right and that the other doc had no idea what was going on with me. so he said that he wants me to do another sleep test. now just waiting on them to call me, his nusre told me to take my machine to the test with me anybody know why?

Most like they will check your machine w/a manometer or whatever they call it to make sure it is correctly producing the set pressure and then probably they will set your pressure according to the results of your titration so you don't have to take it to a DME supplier to have it done.

Ask your doctor WHY you need another sleep study when you could get a one or two-week trial with an APAP to determine your proper pressure. OR, he could write you a prescription for an APAP and you could find the proper pressure yourself.

My guess would be that since this doctor doesn't trust the results of the previous study he not only wants to verify or correct any breathing events he wants to reassure himself about any other likely or possible sleep disorders. (Plus, if you're cynical - - its more financially rewarding).
