Comfort Full Face Mask Question

Post by sleepy0808 » Fri May 20, 2005 2:23 pm

Okay I am new and I have the Comfort Full face mask, I have been using it for about 1 week and I am having all kinds of problems with it.. I have leakage ever night. Is there something out there I can use like a gasket? I also have noticed that it will shift at night when I move to my side or back. And I have a bruise on my nose from it. Is there some sort of material or a item I can get to prevent this? Should I be wearing it tighter? It feels pretty tight already. And the hose is a pain the neck, if it is not laying directly on my stomach it pulls the mask. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Velcro?

Any words of wisdom is welcomed.

sleepy0808, the Respironics ComfortFull was the first full face mask I used - for months. I had the same nonstop problems with it that you described. My best advice would be to get a different brand of full face mask. As soon as I had the cash to switch to another, I got the ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - what a wonderful difference.

That is the one I am using now. I have found that it needs to be looser. I at first had a med. and it was ok, but the soft membrane ripped and my nose had a red spot. So I loosened it up and it sealed better but I thought I needed a lg. So when I turned it in because of the rip(it was only 2 weeks old) I had them give me a large. Wish I would have stayed with a med. I figured that the leakage can't be that much since it comes out the swivel anyway. So now I keep it loose and it leaks alittle but is working fine. Leaks becaus eof my beard. May try turng the pressure up a little to compensate if the machine doesn't do it.
