I was browsing the sleep apnea related clinical trials on http://www.clinicaltrials.gov this morning and found that the VA is conducting one entitled, "Effect of Self-Management on Improving Sleep Apnea Outcomes". They don't plan to conclude it until April, 2009, but it looks like they're headed in a positive direction.
The clinical trials website lists about 110 studies in progress on OSA.

Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.
The V.A. is kind of doing that now, due to lack of resources, one member was given a APAP and pushed out the door. All you need to work on the problem, is the correct machine and software and a semi-functional brain. Those three things will be better than you are given by the medical profession. Add the help others with the same problems, and you are ahead of the curve. Jim
