Mindy,
I am thinking the same thing. I don't believe they had enough time or information during my Titration to come up with the pressure number that they gave me. For one thing, I don't think I slept on my back at all during the sleep study and I had what was called a "split night" where only half of the night was used to measure my sleep with a mask on. Eventually, I would like to set the APAP up and find out what my best pressure setting is and then hopefully go to that number with CPAP.
Machine upgraded. Help with software needed.
Yes, I know exactly what you mean! I asked the sleep doc who read my study how accurate the PSG's really are. Her response was that they've done studies where they've had the same person come back 5 nights in a row and the results haven't changed. What I thought (but didn't say!) was that I probably would have the same results every night ... in the sleep lab! There are some good docs but that doesn't mean that they necessarily understand what we go through ... unless they've been there.Flying_Norseman wrote:I don't believe they had enough time or information during my Titration to come up with the pressure number that they gave me. I recall a resident physician who tried to stitch up an abdominal incision of a friend a few days after surgery ... without local anesthetic! He wasn't a bad dude, he just had absolutely no idea what it felt like to be in severe pain. He got a very major lesson several months later when he had a skiing accident and tore every tendon in his legs... and I heard that he was never as cavalier about pain again!
